My love for Baz Luhrmann began in 1996 with Romeo + Juliet. His modernization of Shakespeare’s tragedy retained the original dialogue while moving the characters into modern times. And it worked!

The soundtrack is just as amazing as the film.  Garbage’s “#1 Crush” was the perfect song for the film.
